Jose Peseiro has refuted claims of being contacted to return as the head coach of the Super Eagles, stating that nobody has reached out to him regarding the position.
The Portuguese coach made this assertion in an interview with Soccernet, clarifying the ongoing speculations surrounding his potential return.
Peseiro departed from the role after his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ended in February. Following his departure, the NFF announced a vacancy for the head coach position, with several candidates, including Emmanuel Amunike and Michael Nsien, being linked to the role. Additionally, three European coaches, Danny Bujis, Domenec Torrent, and Toni Conceicao, made the final shortlist.
Despite speculations suggesting Peseiro’s potential return to the team, he has denied any discussions with either the Ministry of Sports or the NFF. He emphasized that he is currently enjoying his holiday and keeping up with matches, including upcoming games involving Real Madrid.
