The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani who recently embarked on a diplomatic mission to Wales and Sweden with the goal to establish strategic partnerships and attract investments to Nigeria’s growing technology sector.


Dr. Tijani chaired a virtual meeting with Ministry Directors to refine operational strategies. He then met with Lana Graf, Global Lead for Artificial Intelligence/Deep Tech at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank, to explore collaboration and investment opportunities in cutting-edge technologies.


In Wales, Dr. Tijani visited Swansea University, a renowned institution in semiconductor fabrication. He discussed potential programs to address Nigeria’s talent gap in the semiconductor industry and toured the university’s state-of-the-art Clean Lab.


At the SEMI Talent Forum in Wales, Dr. Tijani emphasized the need for talent development to meet the industry’s growing demand. He signed agreements with SecureID and SEMI Europe to explore training initiatives and curriculum development, aiming to boost Nigeria’s semiconductor sector.


In Sweden, Dr. Tijani held high-level meetings with government officials and stakeholders, including Vinnova, to discuss investment partnerships in innovation and digital technologies. The talks focused on potential collaborations in research and ecosystem development.


Dr. Tijani’s diplomatic efforts align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to establish Nigeria as a hub for technological innovation and economic growth.
